Geneva Oleander
Geneva Oleander
Geneva Oleander is a local RVA author with a lifetime of writing and storytelling pushing her to share her lived experiences (along with the stories of all the fairies, vampires, witches, and sexy aliens who roam her mind rent free). She prefers to break every convention she's ever encountered and tell the weirdest, sexiest stories possible. As a fan of the indie authors movement, River City Siren Press is her passion and home for every story she ever plans to write. She has currently authored a short story collection and a poetry collection, with her debut novel out later this year.

D.M. Mewha
D.M. Mewha
D.M. Mewha lives in the magical land of "The DC Suburbs" where he does battle with monsters such as "Beltway Traffic", and "Wow, Everything Is Too Expensive" with the help of his talented and far-too-patient wife and an assorted menagerie of pets that she threatens to make weirder as time goes on (people don't really want skunks as pets, do they?). He writes sci-fi and fantasy in a variety of flavors, and is a certified TTRPG nerd who dabbles in some table top wargaming, which sounds better than "he plays with little plastic guys and makes them go 'pew pew'.

Desiree DuBois
Desiree DuBois began her writing journey via fanfiction in the Twilight era of 2008. She branched out to Voltron in 2016, and Good Omens in 2019. She was asked to write in the shared world of Assassins! Accidental Matchmakers by Jen and Éric Desmarais. All the while, she wondered if she could write original fiction. Her first attempt, in 2015, was the first draft of I’ve Got You, Love, which she then put aside for six years!
She lives in Canada with her very loving and understanding husband and two kids.
Kate Mathos began creating characters and writing down stories in her childhood. She’s a native of the Chicago suburbs, and therefore, quietly holds strong opinions on super important topics like where to get the best pizza, if it’s the Cubs or Sox, and what to call the tallest building in the city.
When she’s not writing fantasy novels (middle grade is her current project) or hanging out with her family, she can be found reading, baking, or doom scrolling social media like it’s her job.
Marcos Eguia is a fantasy author, tattoo artist, illustrator, polygot, father, husband...and quite a few other things. Marcos' first book, Fortitude, is a stunning novel (with visual art inside the book and prose you'll fall in love with) that will appeal to fans of R.A. Salvatore, Sabaa Tahir, and Patrick Rothfuss.
Marcos is currently a Virginia-based author.
Niki Kamerzell was born and raised in Colorado and fills her free time with way too many things like hiking, camping, working on the house, gardening, reading, writing, and collecting so many books that if the apocalypse happens, she’s set for at least five lifetimes.
She will read just about anything recommended to her and has been known to sacrifice eating and sleeping to finish a good book. Niki writes fantasy and has been writing for about fifteen years. When not writing or reading or buying new books, Niki is probably doing yard work, making salsa, or out hiking in the Rocky Mountains with her family and maybe even camping there. If her phone is out of service, it’s because she’s made one of her annual trips to Yellowstone.
Her other distractions include driving around and singing off-key with the radio and scrapbooking. Always willing to make things awkward, sarcasm is like a second language to her and, next to her passion for writing, probably one of the things Niki’s most proud of.
Éric has had an eclectic career which ranges from casino dealer to canal boat captain to radio station DJ. Since 2009, he’s worked as a desktop publisher for the federal government. During his off time, he works as a freelance typesetter for various Canadian-based authors and publishers, roasts gourmet flavoured coffee, runs several pen-and-paper role-playing games, writes, and helps run JenEric-Designs.ca (Home of the TravellingTARDIS.com). He lives in Ottawa, Ontario with his author wife, daughter, and son. Visit him at www.EricDesmarais.ca.
Bermuda Triangle born and southern raised, T. A. Guillory lives in his hometown of New Orleans. When not writing, he spends his time gaming, going to fan conventions, and geeking out. River City Siren Press is thrilled to announce the publication of T.A. Guillory’s debut literary fiction novel, expected Fall of 2025.
Previous publications include: The Unofficial Witcher Cookbook.
Frequently Asked Questions about Indie Publishing
In the age of KDP and easy self-publishing, why choose to submit and publish with an indie publishing company?
Self-publishing has never been easier, but there are a lot of pitfalls if you don't have a background in creative writing, editing, and formatting. River City Siren Press does all of that work for you if we choose to publish your book. Publishing with us includes editing, cover design, book formatting, book advertising, promotions, and print sales at local events. In addition, we are happy to set up book signings and events local to you if at all possible.
Why choose indie publishing over traditional publishing?
There are a long list of reasons to go indie over trad publishing, but we'll share a few reasons. Authors get 10% to 5% of sales from traditional publishers, and it takes years for their books to make it to print. Authors have little to no autonomy over the cover design, book layout, or content edits of their book with trad publishers. With indies (with us), our authors make a minimum of 20% of all book sales, their books will be out in less than a year, and our authors have final autonomy over cover design, book layout, and content edits.
Do authors pay River City Siren Press to publish their books?
NO. Any publishing company that demands a fee is a scam. We have no fee. On the flip side, we also don't offer a signing bonus. All monies are based on book sales. Our contracts are simple and clear without caveats or hidden ways for us to take any additional money.
